Motorized shades and blinds.

We live in a techy world today so why wouldn’t we expect to have motorized blinds and shades? With all the new home automation blinds and shades fit nicely into that realm. The technology in home automation is much more affordable than it was a few years ago. Blinds and Shades can be added to home automation with the click of your I phone or computer.

Made in the Shade Kansas offers our clients many different products that can be motorized, blinds wood or faux allow the slats to be opened or shut. Roman shades, cellular shades and roller shades all provide our client the convenience of raising and lowering at the touch of a button on your hand held remote or can be programed on a timer to go up when you want them to even if you’re not home.

Clients that have windows that are hard to reach are finding it much easier to just motorized those shades. We recently were in a home that has a whole wall of windows stacked on top of each other and facing the south. While the builder thought the aesthetics were beautiful they did not consider how difficult it would be for the home owner to add window treatments. The solution to this problem was to add motorized solar roller shades. The remote control we used had 16 channels we were able to offer many different scenarios and options to which shades could be raised. The home owner was so pleased, the room was much cooler and the glare on the TV was gone, but in the morning they could have all the shades raised to enjoy the light!

Should you choose battery powered or A/C (plug in) motors? The nice thing about battery operated shades is you don’t have to hide power cords. Battery packs use lithium AA batteries and give you about two years of life.  A/C   or plug in motors  can operate very large window treatments as well as Exterior patio shades. you will have a cord but it can be fairly well concealed.
